I was unable to attend the funeral due to an ongoing illness but watched it online. It was a fitting tribute to Redders. As a former president of the Geelong Cricket Club I got to know him on a personal level and greatly enjoyed the times when we would have a chat. My wife Amanda who was secretary of the club during my years also sends her sincere condolences to the family as do I.

As an eight year old, my father took me along to the MCG to watch Victoria play the international touring team. Redders was batting and the game was meandering along in a holding pattern. In a moment of frustration I stood up and yelled out “hit a six Redpath” much to the chagrin of my father. Two balls later, Redders advanced down the pitch and hit a lofted drive over the bowlers head and over the fence. What a memory of my first cricket match. Thanks Redders!

Will miss the footy, soccer and cricket boundary chats Redders.
About old Cats players, how to execute the perfect cover drive and your thoughts on the new versions of the game!
“Hit it along the ground. You can’t be caught that way.”
Missed by many

So hard to know what to say when a treasured soul leaves us. We were late comers to the pleasure of getting to know Ian, Pops to us all. Having no grandpa of in our family, my children very quickly delighted in spending time with Ian, us all having spirited chats around the kitchen table. And of course having him arrive to watch their sporting events was the icing on the cake. He was an incredible man, with such love and generosity of spirit, articulate conversation and always a warm twinkle ready for a yarn. We feel so blessed to have precious memories to share.
To the Redpaths may you be held in the gentle hands of love of friends and family at this difficult time.

Dear Redders,
We were saddened to hear of the death of your father, Ian, in the past few weeks. We were aware of his health struggles in the past few years and how you were there to support him. We are mindful that now both your parents have passed, leaving you and your sisters to pick up the bat as the senior members of the Redpath family.
Ian was such a measured gentleman and wonderful role model. He will be missed.
Our thoughts are with you.
Love from Carol, David, Nicole and Kathryn

Having the pleasure of Ian Redpath enter my life would be one of the most memorable meeting’s I will truly treasure. I t was always a joy to play golf with Redders, some banter, talk about nature and enjoy life.
Ian, a thorough gentleman along with being a modest champion respected by all.

The Scudamores - Ian, Kirsten and Duncan - all have very fond memories of Ian, with his wry sense of humour and for the respect and sense of fun with which he treated us as children. Our parents, Joe and Joan (both dec.), truly cherished their friendship with Ian and Christine and we three remember those wonderful summer days around the pool together. Heartfelt condolences from us all.
