For Aunty Dee – From Claire
Making scones and cream in your kitchen bright,
Fresh baked bread—oh, what a delight!
Mini quiches, sausage rolls galore,
At every event, we’d ask for more.
Christmas came, and oh, what a feat,
Your crispy potatoes just couldn’t be beat!
Neil’s yabbies in the bathtub swam,
While you just chuckled and didn’t give a damn.
Footy stats, the scores you’d track,
You’d give us newspaper clippings stacked in a pack.
A kind word, a note, a gentle cheer,
You lifted us up year after year.
You saw the best in those you knew,
With kind encouragement that always grew.
A cheerful heart, so warm and wide,
Lifting us all with love and pride.
You loved us more than words can say,
Gave so much in your own sweet way.
Aunty Dee, we’ll miss you true,
But we’ll smile and laugh—just like you.

Our sincere condolences to Neil and family. Deidre loved watching Max (and all the boys) play cricket and they certainly loved her morning tea's. I will treasure our chats while watching the games. Such a beautiful lady inside and out. RIP Deidre. xx

Deidre, It’s time to say goodbye my dear sister. As much as I don’t want to, the time has come.
I will miss you in all my years ahead. I will treasure the memories of times spent together. You will always be remembered for your positive, all inclusive outlook, your generous heart, and your enduring love for family. Goodbye for now. Pam.

Deidre and I became friends during the writing course years ago and we shared an immediate warped sense of humour which lasted through the ups and downs of the ensuing years.
We shared many cups of tea, pamper days at cafes, picnics and scrabble at Balyang Sanctuary, and a little footy tipping rivalry. Along with trading the secrets of bread-making and gardening, we also shared family newses. I will miss this friendship so much.
Deidre always was so proud of you and your family Neil.
Condolences to you all at this time. SueC

Deidre was a wonderful friend to Lee & I for 50 years. Everyone adored her & she loved her family very much. She often told funny stories about the grandchildren & her face would just light up with pride. We will miss her very much.
Thinking of you Neil, Joanne, Bridget, Adele & Max at this difficult time & sending lots of Love & Hugs xxxxx
Nina
