Sincere condolences to Pete's family and friends on his very sad passing.
Pete was a beautiful soul, friendly and warm, and we enjoyed catching up with him very much at Oakwood. Newtown won't be the same without Pete.
A VIP Angel now to your family. Our most heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. 💔

So sad to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man. Pete always had a smile on his face, and time to share a coffee with everyone. I'm sure he single handedly kept most of the cafes in Pako in business! Blessed to have had Pete as not only a client, but a friend for over 20 years. Will miss the coffees, chats, and gym sessions that were often just an excuse to get together for a breakfast! It was an honour to be called your friend and you will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Sue, Shanti, Josh, Abbey, Jamica, Rama, Ashra, Annwyn and the rest of the family at this time.

“Hey mate” is how all our conversations started. From the moment we met at Oakwood Restorations we instantly became mates. Through work and renovations it turned into dinners and cruising in the mustang. Always a highlight driving past your shop to see what coffee shop you were at. I will miss leaving messages on your answering machine. Rest in peace Pete. Sending all our love & prayers to Shanti and the family xxx

Having grown up on the other side of the world I did not get many opportunities to meet my cousin Pete. However every time he came over he was always very warm and friendly to myself and my family. I know Pete will be dearly missed by all those that had the privilege to spend time with him on both sides of the pond.
Sending love and condolences to all of those closest to Pete especially his wife and children. xxxx

When I came over to Australia over 15 years ago as a teenager Pete made my experience one to remember. Such a thoughtful, kind and generous man. Sending love to everyone this sad news affects.

Peter was a student of mine at Grovedale Secondary College during the 1980’s. I remember him as a “Fun Loving”, happy young lad, who always had a smile on his face. I had the privilege of watching Peter grow into a “Fine Young Man” who owned a prestigious business. What a joy for my wife and I to be served by Pete at Oakwood Restorations. Same, happy man ….. same smiling face. Pete has certainly left his mark on this world ! Love to Shanti, Sue and family. John and Gail Young.

When you first met me I was just a little baby. So small and delicate. That not long turned into a sassy young woman who learnt the hames way to not take anyone’s bad word. You took me in not long ago for about 10 months while dad and I were finding a place to move in to. You showed me the comfort and safety of a home. You turned into not just my uncle but a second father figure. You never gave up on dad and I, and you always believed in us. When times got tough you were always there for us. I still remember that one Halloween that I tied nearly 16 hairties around your dreads so that your hair stuck up like a volcano. We have so many amazing memories together including when you took me up to Woodford. That is a moment I will never forget. You are my uncle, bestfriend, hero and cheerleader. You have never doubted my ability to do something. You have always said I can do it and cheered me on like nobody else was watching. I am going to make you proud. I’m going to make sure the hames family remembers your love, name and confidence, also your goofy side. You may not be here with us physically anymore but your spirit will forever be here. That will never leave. You are the spark in our lives that we will fan and make shine no matter where you are. Make sure to reserve our hames table, maybe make sure there are plenty of seats too, we’ve got a huge family. You are a memory I will never forget and you will always be there in my heart and I will remember you from the littlest of things, and your music will stay alive through me and all of your family we won’t let it go. Fly high, and make the skies pretty. I love you heaps uncle Pete.
Rest peacefully now.

We are extremely saddened to read about Pete’s far too early departure. Although we only initially met you through business, your vibrance, humour, genuine care and interest stayed warmly with us. Just about every light switch we flick in our home will remind us of what a great bloke you were. Our thoughts are with all of your beautiful family members.

You were one in a million Pete. It is with such shock and sadness to hear of your sudden passing. A man who loved lights like no other. ( Almost as much as his family) You can now light the sky any way you want for eternity. Sincere condolences to Abbey, Josh, Shanti and all of Pete’s family and friends. Renovating will never be the same. Rest in peace wonderful man xxx
