Dearest Lunn
Since you followed the Lord to a better place, my every waking moment has been filled will memories of you. I miss you so much, Sister.
All those joyous moments we shared together, walking around the shops, sitting down for a cup of tea/coffee and a shared piece of cake and chatting literally about everything under the sun.
You held our family together and took such good care of everyone. Getting together at your home to enjoy the fabulous family favourites you cooked for us was always a highlight. And seeing the gentle love and care you had for Padee warmed our hearts.
You always made everyone feel special. I look around my house and there are so many reminders of your generosity and kindness - all those thoughtful gifts you showered me with on my Birthday, at Christmas and just because I am your little sister. I will treasure them all. Somehow, you always knew what to get me and I was always in awe at how you were able to source what I could not find. I shall miss you popping round armed with goodies for me to try. I will miss being your PJ 'twin' 🤗 !
I wish we could have had time for more trips together. We always had so much laughter and fun on our holidays, especially the ones to Malaysia, and I will remember those moments fondly.
I will miss teasing you, seeing your cheeky grin and your beautiful smile, as well as our whatsapp chats and video calls. Thank you for always leading the reflections from us siblings for Mum and Dad. You always had such a beautiful way with words. I hope I can be just as eloquent as you when I am asked to reflect on your life and the enormous joy you have brought us all.
I love you always, Lunn, and will forever cherish our time together. I feel so blessed to have had you as my big sister ❤️.
When I think of Yee Ma
I’m overwhelmed with the memory of her many gestures of love.
The warm welcome she greeted us with each time we visited
The care and support she dutifully provided to poh poh and gung gung
And of course the countless delicious meals she skilfully & lovingly made for us (always knowing what was our favourite)
I will miss hearing her enjoy a good laugh with her siblings
and how she thoughtfully said grace at gatherings before a meal
I will miss her cooking which warmed our bellies and our hearts
And most of all I will miss her company.
We were so lucky to have her in our lives & I am so grateful to have these memories live within me.
Her kindness and generosity has rubbed off on all of us and we are all so much richer for it!
Thank you for being my Yee Ma.
Kit Lunn
So gentle and kind
So loving of mind
Called to an early rest
You were simply the best.
My beloved sister,
Whisper to me through the wind, I shall be listening for you constantly.
We shall meet again.
All my love, always.
…If ever I get
to heaven I’ll bet
the first angel I’ll recognise
she’ll smile at me
and I know she will be
this beautiful sister of mine
I love you Lunn
Dearest Yee Ma
The kindest, most generous person - you truly put everyone ahead of yourself.
Your care extended beyond the immediate family and into your community.
Your life was an act of selfless devotion.
There hasn't been a Melbourne Christmas where the things I've looked forward to most have been quality time with family and your signature dishes.
The boxes of pineapple tarts you spent hours making that Amy, Uncle Bob and I somehow always got first dibs (I didn't make those rules).
The sago pudding like no other that everyone had to have a piece of, even if it was the only thing they ate during the traditional Christmas Eve dinners.
Your delicious duck soup and the satay peanut sauce that was perfectly paired with Uncle Terry's (aka hawker bbq extraordinaire's) chicken skewers.
The list goes on. We are forever richer having experienced your dishes that brought us all together.
I had the opportunity to peruse your recipe books in Mulgrave one year and saw the dedicated annotations you made to each one, to make them just perfect.
You were kind enough to share these recipes with us. I will cherish them dearly and hope I can carry on your traditions when I cook them for my boys and our extended family. The boys are already obsessed with your Jin ju yook.
Yee Ma, now in heaven alongside Poh Poh, Gung Gung and Padee, I hope you're wrapped up in love and receiving selfless devotion. We love you and miss you dearly.
Love Amelia, Chris, Louis and Evan
When I first heard news of Goo Mah's passing, I was in the middle of cooking Kuching laksa at home. This laborious dish has a special place within our family and my household largely because Goo Mah would make it, in a batch large enough for 20 people, at the annual Lu household Christmas Day gathering.
Goo Mah, your influence lives on in many everyday moments like these. Thank you for looking after all of us for so long and with such care. We will miss you always.
Tribute to Lunn ❤️
from Bob, Kit Mun and Kit Sun at the service (read by Kit Sun)
------
From Bob, Mun and myself, I want to say Thank You Lunn, for being the best sister to the three of us. We will always remember all the wonderful and joyous moments we have shared together. These are times we will always treasure.
There is no one we know whose thoughtfulness, kindness and generosity towards family and friends shone through more than yours. We are all richer for that.
From the first day I arrived in Melbourne, you were there to support and guide me, from making sure I did not miss home, sacrificing your weekends to type my university essays and for many years after that, taking care of my cats and keeping an eye on my house whenever I went on holidays.
Ah Mun will cherish her sister-bonding moments with you, such as enjoying episode after episode of Doc Martin together, late into the night, and
having coffee and sharing cakes at shopping malls whenever she visited from Canberra. Images of your doggy-paddle swimming style in Penang always put her into a cheerful mood.
We were always by each other's side in those challenging years taking care of Mum and Dad in their final years. We could not have done without you then. We all appreciate and will always be grateful for your selfless dedication during those times.
We shall miss you on our siblings weekly whatsapp catch ups on Sunday nights, that we have been having since the lockdowns in 2020. It will not be the same without you in that fourth screen on our phones.
There are still so many things we had planned to do together, but sadly we can only do so now with your blessings. We know you will always be there with us in our hearts, and memories of your good nature and infectious smile will keep us going.
We love you and will miss you dearly, Big Sister. Till we meet again, may Mum and Dad and Padee’s love guide you forward.
(Bob plays a verse from Ebony Eyes on guitar as his tribute)
Dear Amy, Terry, Kevin, Chien, Curtis, Leon, Dominic and family.
My heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Today was a testaumont to how loved your Mum was Amy.
Respect, love and gratitude for a gracious, caring soul was shown so elquitently in the service. Family, cooking, nurturing and faith, her true legacy.
How special and welcoming Mrs Lu (Vivian/ Kit) was to me.
Rest in peace.
"The greatest good, for the greatest number."
Wishing our most sincere condolences on the passing of our good friend Vivian.
We have had the pleasure of knowing Vivian a long time, firstly as her hairdresser and over the years as a friend.
We hope she rests peacefully.
To Bob, Kit Mun and Kit Sun
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. I have not seen such love amongst siblings as I have seen in the four of you. And I have never seen the care and love as I have seen in her for each of you. Bob, Lunn would always look to cook you your favourite dishes whenever you visited. Mun, you and Lunn shared so much, in the things you love, like looking after Padee which we see so much of you and Tai Chee, and the inspiration you gave her on having her own edible garden and plants.
Bee, the time and meticulous effort Lunn took in selecting the most suitable gifts for you every birthday and Christmas has amazed me. I will surely miss those secret discussions with Lunn.
I know you will all miss her dearly, but she is still with us in our hearts, and we will remember her at every step.

To Terry, Amy and Kevin.
My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the love and support that is around you, from family, lifetime friends, and new friends.
Vivian was like a big sister to me. I shall miss her deeply, all the things we did such as going out for coffee and cake and talking about our edible gardens. She was always softspoken and never complained. Always so thoughtful and generous - the goodies bag she brought to my parties were ginormous! I feel privileged that she would share with me her most treasured recipes like her satay sauce (I hope I will do her proud) and her famous steamed pork pie. I remember a long long time ago when she tried to teach me how to knit - she was a great teacher, and very patient but I was just utterly hopeless with the knitting.
I remember feeding her ice cream at my last visit to the hospital. And I will always remember the last time I saw her when her face lit up at the sight of the cake from Le Petite Gateau and she said "let's have it now". I shall miss all that.
Take comfort that she will be watching over each of you.
She is at peace now, no longer suffering nor in pain.
God bless her soul.

To Uncle Terry, Amy and Kevin,
I remember Goo Mah as a loving aunt and gracious host who always welcomed me into her home. We would have tea and a chuckle about what Padee had been up to recently. In fact a lot of my memories of Goo Mah revolve around food, such as tucking into buns at yum cha, sneaky breakfast at McDonalds Clayton, coffee at Wheelers Hill shops and her helping me order the best dishes at Imperial when I hosted my pre-UK departure dinner. I will miss her warm smile. Rest in peace Goo Mah, with love from Val.

I wish the song "I will always love you" by Lea Selonga can be one of the songs played at her service
P.S. I will always remember you as the sister God forgot to give me but gave you to me as a best friend.
My dearest Lunn
Thank you for the wonderful friendship we have had since I was 17 years old and you 16 years old when we met at Mentone Girls School in Melbourne in 1963. I remember Mother Wong not being happy with your accommodation and came to see Miss Carr, the principal and asked if there were any other Asian students at the school. Your mum came with you to Mrs Myers home where I was staying and asked if you could board with us but Mrs Myer said she only had one other bedroom. Mother Wong checked out my bedroom and said it was large enough to put in another bed and that was the best thing that happened to me in that we formed the best friendship ever. I will always remember you and I thank our Lord for bringing you into my life. I will always remember you and love you. Rest in peace my dearest friend. You are now safe in the arms of Jesus
Sincerest condolences to dear Terry, my gorgeous primary school friend, Amy, brother Kevin and their families and friends.
Vivian, as I knew her, was a kind, astute, caring & loving Mother, Wife & Grandmother - beautiful in every way.
May you find solace in your shared memories, as you grieve, reflect and appreciate all the wonderful years you shared together. I’m sure she watches over her loved ones peacefully from above now.
Much love to all during this acutely sad time,
Louine x❤️🌹
