What a shocking loss! I only met Jean a few times but was duly impressed by her compassion and kindness. She is missed by many but has left her mark on the love her family radiates to all. God speed
Rachel, I am so sorry for your family's loss. I will always remember Jean for her kindness and warm heart.
We were so sorry to hear the very sudden and sad news of our cousin Jean's passing. We were so thankful to have met her, some years ago at our Aunt's home in Lancashire when Jean and Ken were visiting the U.K. We send our love and prayer for Ken and their daughters, Rachel, Jo, Ashleigh and Melissa, and to the grandchildren, and all the Carey family.🌹🌹🌹.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted... Psalm 34 verse 18.
Thinking of you especially today Ashley and your beautiful family.
Oh Jean, taken way too soon! What memories I & my siblings have of a wonderful childhood. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there today but I streamed the beautiful service & felt as though I was there. Sincere condolences to all family and friends.

My dearest Aunty Jean and Godmother. You are at the centre of my earliest memories. You gifted me a love and an appreciation for family. You always, always celebrated my little milestones and achievements. Even more importantly, you reminded me to be kind to myself when the tide was against me. You emboldened me to test boundaries, to verge on the outrageous, to express myself. With you, I never felt self-conscious. Your love is an attentive, reassuring and gentle love. I carry your love with me, Aunty Jean. Always.
Sending you all love at this very sad and painful time. I was very much a part of Jeans earlier life at school and throughout nursing. In losing her so suddenly and unexpectedly I have come to realise the depth of my love for her and hers for me, and all those she has touched. She had such a mischievous joy for life . With gratitude Jean. May you rest peacefully
Condolences to Ken, Rachel, Jo, Ash, Melissa and all the family. It is never easy to lose someone or find the right words to ease the pain. Jean you were and always will be so special. We are grateful for your friendship, guidance and always being there in times of need. We will cherish the memories of you and the laughs we shared, especially stealing your Cherry Ripes at the footy, and making you look for it. Rest now and one day we will reunite. All our love xo

Dearest Jean.....from kinder, to primary school, to secondary school, you were always there and I thought you would still be there, but it seems Heaven had other plans. Whether the gap in catch ups was a month or 5 years, you were always welcoming - your kindness and generosity always extended. To Ken and family, I cannot even begin to imagine your loss - we are there for you.......The Girls of SHC 1976!

Jean, my heart is broken & I am devastated. I thought we would grow old as the bestest of friends. Our friendship from teenagers working casual at Coles to having our kids close together. Going away on girls' weekends or watching our beloved Geelong Football Club. The world has lost a beautiful loving & caring lady who I proudly called my bestest friend who I will miss very much. RIP my bestest friend love Maryanne.
Condolences to Ken Rachel Jo Ashleigh Melissa & families.
Jean, you were more like a mother to me than a big sister. You cared for me, you made me feel safe and you loved me unconditionally. You made me feel like I was the only person in the world that mattered. My one regret is I never told you often enough how much I loved you and that you meant the world to me. So my beautiful, kind, caring, lovely, quirky sister, thank you. Thank you for being you. I love you now and forever. R.I.P.
