Dear Tahir and family, please accept my sincere apologies for the sad loss of your beloved mother Brenda. I hope today’s funeral service for Brenda is a special celebration of her life that shone so brightly.

I met Brenda about 30 years ago, when she was staying, nearby my house, with Tahir in Perth. Later Brenda lived in her own house in Perth and I visited her many times. Brenda enjoyed spending time with my family and often came on weekend outings with us around Perth. Brenda was full of joy and great company on all these outings and loved soaking up the day to day events that unfolded. Brenda was an excellent counsellor and enjoyed sharing her wisdom with me and willingly provided valuable advice.

When Brenda moved back to Geelong, I also visited her at her house and we had many years of lengthy phone calls on a weekly basis. I felt I knew such a great deal about Brenda’s life and was inspired by her resilience especially considering the many personal challenges she faced over the years.

I was full of admiration for Brenda and the hardships she endured especially as a young person growing up in the second world war in Europe and later with her personal and health circumstances in Geelong. I recall Brenda commenting on a sore leg one day and she mentioned that she still had a bullet in her leg from the war, and another one elsewhere in her body!

Brenda was an exceptionally hard working lady including up to her later years. She was very fair in her evaluation of life and people. I enjoyed Brenda’s candidness in handling life. Her love for her children was very strong.

In summary Brenda’s life encompassed loss, happiness, tragedy, seemingly impossible events and excitement. Despite all however, Brenda always came out on top.

Larger than life, Brenda’s memory will inspire us all to live fully and love deeply!

We will miss you Brenda, love from Cathy, Richard, James and Amy xxxx

My dearest Brenda,
How I will miss our long, anytime-chats!!
Thank you for being a teacher on life in general - your words will stay with me always. You have definitely been a very influential person in my life, and many others, I’m sure. You were always willing to share your knowledge, and boy, you had it in bucket-loads - from the war; to work; to family situations; politics - you name it. You were never afraid to speak your mind and although we didn’t always agree on everything, you certainly had my respect.
With love, we say goodbye 💔
May you rest in peace, knowing that you have lived your life to your full potential
Our condolences to your children Tahir, Carl and Deanna - may the memories of good times shared console them..

Love you always Brenda
Lyn, Joe and family 🌹♥️🌹

With deep sorrow and full hearts, we say goodbye to Brenda, a beloved family friend who lived with spirit and strength, meeting life’s challenges with grace and a smile. Even in the face of hardship, she found joy, and gave joy in return.

What we will miss most are our long, soulful conversations, shared across oceans, yet never distant. Her voice was a comfort, her words a thread that kept us close.

We are grateful for the love she gave so freely, and we will carry it with us always.

With all our love and deepest respect,
Emma, Lara, Koka and Nik
