I am deeply saddened by the loss of my colleague and friend Paul. Paul often helped me put thing in perspective when workload becomes unbearable. He is one of very few in the office I can talk to about food and latest hip restaurants like Vue de Monde! He loved his life, his work, his food and most of all his family. I will miss my friend dearly.

Sharon, It was with great sadness that we read that Paul has passed away Cheryl and I– and all our family (now including 12 grandkids !!) – express our deepest sympathies at this truely untimely, emotional and unbelievable event. Over the years Paul and I experienced many great times together - Best man at my Wedding, swimming, water polo, spearfishing, Europe, late night fish and chips at Cheltenham - all so good and will remain in the memory bank forever!! - This event just does not make sense. Please give our condolences to Margaret, Ted and all the families. God Bless.

I will remember Paul as thoughtful, considerate and an incredibly professional colleague. He always provided support and advice during difficult times, sharing his work and personal experiences when I needed a different perspective. His sudden loss is hard to accept and has had a significant impact on all of us at La Trobe University. Much love and strength to the family during this difficult time.

Hi Sharon & Family I was lucky to share an office with Paul when he first joined the University and got to know him quite well sharing many stories about work, life and family. Paul was one of life's genuine good guys, extremely likeable, loyal, trustworthy and a good friend & confidante. I will personally miss him a great deal and laughs/banter we shared. Please accept my sincere condolences and may he rest in peace. Dermot x

I sat near Paul when I first joined La Trobe last year and found him to be a gentle, caring soul with a quick wit. Since moving offices I haven't chatted with him nearly as often which saddens me now. There is no doubt his presence is missed at work and we will remember him fondly. My heart goes out to Sharon, Jarrod and Kieran at this difficult time. It was a privilege to be a part of the funeral service this week and to witness first hand the love and strength the extended family shares. This gives comfort that the difficult times ahead will be made easier through the ongoing care and support you can all share and I have no doubt that would make Paul very proud and will be a fitting legacy for a wonderful human being.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's passing last month. I haven't worked at LTU very frequently this year, but last year I would chat with Paul most days, he was always up for a chat and a laugh. He had a great, positive, sometimes dry perspective on things, I liked his sense of humour. He would have a chuckle with a twinkle in his eye if we were lamenting 'the establishment' or Murphy's law. Paul helped me out a number of times when I needed help with my my bike's gears or brakes and we would share cycling stories, such a generous and friendly character. He always humoured me and encouraged me even though I was a much more slack cyclist than he was. I remember he told me of his and Sharon's excitement of the weddings of both sons last year, and told me how beautiful the weddings were and what a good time everyone had at them. LTU have lost a lovely friend and colleague, and to Paul's friends family, close and extended, I'm thinking of you and sending you strength. What a lovely fellow your partner and dad was (and son and brother and uncle etc etc too, I'm sure).
