Beautiful funeral and tribute to Mary. My mother Leslie Collins and Mary had fun together and so many wonderful summers on Shelter Island. Condolences to all the family in Victoria.

We have wonderful memories of Mary and our mother Leslie (Cam's sister) sitting together having a class of wine together on the porch of the Red House on Shelter Island. Oh, the laughs! My mother loved it when Mary and Cam were there. Cam would peek around the corner and they would both shriek "Go away Cam!". Lots of fun and wonderful times. That

If you ever brought a guest / new partner to a Meehan + Callan reunion and worried about how they might cope with the mayhem, seeing them locked in conversation with Mary was the most reassuring sight.

We’ll miss you Mary for your worldly stories, and genuine interest in how all the nieces and nephews are going.

Mary and I first met at Melbourne University in the early 1950’s.
After many years in US,she returned to Australia, settling in Beacon Cove not far from my home.
We met at St Joseph’s Church, Port Melbourne one Sunday after Mass and since then have regularly spent time together.
During Covid,we had many long chats on the phone, to while away the time in isolation,as we both lived alone.
I shall miss her friendship and her welcoming smile.

Between visiting Mary at her home in Melbourne during my study abroad trip to getting lunches with her in NYC / Greenwich- Mary was always in touch and seeing her was an annual highlight for me. She was truly an interesting woman, and I always had so much to learn from her. Even though my grandfather passed away when I was very young, she always helped me to feel connected to him and their life together. I was lucky that Mary made the effort that she did, and she was always wonderful to be around. She will be missed.

We are sorry to learn of the passing of Mary. She was an elegant and charming lady. We admired her for the many interests she perused and the lively conversations we always enjoyed in her company. Our condolences to Patsy and the rest of the family

Auntie Mary strong from beginning until the end.
So many wonderful times shared over the years especially at Pt.Lonsdale & the family reunions. Your annual Birthday cards that always arrived on the day. Meeting Hugh Jackman back stage on Broadway with Mum(Viv). Your constant interest in all the family’s whereabouts & achievements.
Reunited with Cam, Nana, Pa, Pete & Viv. Hopefully you’re all having a glass of wine together up there.
I’m going to miss your smile, humor, headstrong nature, chats & laughter.
R.I.P. Mary
