Kev was a great friend to me and he will be sadly missed. I remember fondly the fun times we had over the years. Although we moved in different circles in the later years and I moved interstate I it always felt like yesterday whenever I ran into him. We had great times at City CC and
Anglesea FC. When I moved to Melbourne for work in the early 90s I was welcomed into the Purcell home every Saturday Night like I was part of the family. I remember those days fondly and our adventures. Like the time we caught the bloke stealing petrol from cars and Kev made a citizens arrest while I did my best to help. I have included a photo of Kev and I from my wedding in 1994 he was my groomsman and made the day with his sense of humour and ability to calm my nerves. I am deeply saddened by the loss of my friend Kev and unfortunately I am unable to travel down to Geelong for the funeral on Wednesday, on behalf of my wife Bec and daughter Lauren we would like to offer our condolences to the whole Purcell family at this difficult time.
