What a legend of a man at Corio South P.S. some 50+ years ago a man of strong character. A sharp dresser and to know he had been a Geelong footballer a real celebrity. I’ve remembered him so clearly for all this time. Memories along his life and impressions made on little people. Thank you John xx

Dear Ruth and family
We enjoyed many chats with you and John about running the country, our love of Irish music (especially Daniel O'Donnell.) Sorry that I am not with you all today but watching with Angela from my room at Mercy Place. Pat recalls his roving days on the wing in the Navy Blue and White hoops. Sincerely Pat and Angela

My earliest memory of John was when I was a student at Connewarre Primary School. Early in his footy career as a Cat, he drove out from Geelong to teach us the skills of the code. He was so kind and patient. From that point, I took a special interest in his career. He had a fine reputation as a school teacher. We often crossed paths in educational environments.
He will be remembered by so many people as a humble, considerate and intelligent man who helped to make the world a better place.
