Our deepest gratitude to all the “saints” who were able to attend John’s funeral, and all those who wanted to be there but couldn’t. Your presence in John’s life is represented here in this photo of candle lights. John certainly made a mark in our lives. Rosa, our thoughts are with you.

Rosa. It was such a privilege to get to know both John and yourself over the past seven and a half years. John’s journey was not easy but with the combination of your strength and love and John’s determination, the journey was fought together, as a united couple. Never a dull moment when I was with you. Have lots of great memories and so many stories I could tell. From holidays at the farm and when I moved to Hamilton with work. Life was very interesting when I was around you. No more suffering you were a fighter and you fought to the end. Keep punching

Even though I only met you once that insidious disease had its grips on you, all I ever saw was a man so interested in my family, so wanting to engage and exchange stories.

I had the privilege to hear about some of the adventures that John and Rosa shared together.

Rosa also often spoke about John‘s strength and courage during his battle and what a remarkable man he was.
