To Helen and Glen, my heartfelt condolence particularly to you two on the loss of your mother (my cousin). I was hoping to get there, to catch up with everyone, after (cousin) Judith rang this morning to give me the news!! However, after she rang off, I thought better of it since I think I am coming down with the vicious cold bug my son Ben (your cousin) is raging with at the moment!! Taking an infectious bug to a room full of mostly elderly people?---not a great idea!!😅 You spoke well Glen, your Mum was a sweety, and you encapsulated her well with your reminiscences. She smiled with her eyes, even when she was in pain, no complaints; forever positive!😄 I chuckled at your comments about veal, I'm the same!! You may or may not know this, but your grandmother (Ruby) could not stand chicken dishes because when she was in her younger married life, if I remember the story correctly, Ruby told me, she had to pluck dead chooks, sometimes all day, when demand in the meat smallgoods business was high (to make sure the story is right, Dorothy can probably give you more detail). Therefore "chicken" was always off the menu!!
Anyway, that'll do me for now, I hope you, Helen, and Glen, have/had a good afternoon of loving and happy reflection about your mum. My heartfelt love and sympathy for your loss, Rob.
