Fond, decades-old memories of her welcoming, frequent hospitality for Bill’s teenage schoolmates, and her good-natured tolerance on those occasions of the sound and volume created at the start of our respective musical journeys, when beginner skills could not match youthful enthusiasm, are resurfacing now with a smile and a sense of appreciation, as well as of shared sadness.

I remember having a Sunday lunch years ago when your husband was alive. He reminded me of my dad a man who worked hard and long in his own business.
