Nan, we’ve said many goodbyes in the past but today we say our final goodbye and lay you to rest. I will forever cherish the memories we have created throughout our various travels. From the trips to Ocean Grove to the Great Ocean Road to Phillip Island to Dimboola, a visit to Australia was never complete without spending atleast a week with you. I will never forget the effort that you made to be apart of our lives and celebrate our achievements, especially the trip you made for my graduation. I am extremely grateful to have gotten to know the caring person you were - always asking about our lives, keeping us connected with our Australian family and sending a chocolates package on our birthday. Your love crossed continents and was felt by everyone you met, we will miss you and love you forever.

Goodbye Nan. Today, a week after your passing, your house was filled with family and friends. We shared food and drinks, news and memories, laughs and tears. You would've loved it. I tried to think of one key memory but it's so hard to choose. A big exciting trip overseas for the first time, wearing a silly hat as you chauffeured me to my deb, saving me my own special piece of pudding when I had to work for Christmas or even just every time I got to celebrate an occasion with your trademark passionfruit sponge. In reality my favourite moment was both none of these, and all of them. They're all just examples of the way you cared, and the way you shared. You made everyone feel so special and important and welcome, and we were so privileged to get to enjoy life with you for so long. You hade a smile for everyone and a joyful sparkle in your eye right until the last day. Rest easy. We'll look after each other now. You taught us how.

So many pictures; so many memories. None of them alone can capture that lifetime of love that was your gift. I guess it is time I finally start making my own passionfruit iced sponges and yes, of course I'll remember to add that boiling water carefully over the back of the spoon. I miss you Mum
